Anybody know why the popular 80s film "Romancing the Stone" now goes by title "Jewel of the Nile" on TV?
I have noticed this change in title before and wondered, and noticed it again when it played on tv the other night. This is the film with Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito.
Jewel of the Nile is the sequel to Romancing the Stone.

I know the movie your talking about…I saw it on TV on Sky Movies a few nights ago and it was still called Romancing The Stone..
Jewel Of The Nile is it’s sequel. It’s not the same movie.

JEWEL OF THE NILE is the follow-up to ROMANCING THE STONE. It has the same principal cast, but is the story about what Joan Wilder’s "Happily Ever After" was like a few years after the events of ROMANCING. The three actors – Turner, Douglas and DeVito – wouldn’t work together again until the excellent WAR OF THE ROSES.
