Oscar fish sick????!!!!!!?
Ok well I’m 11 yrs old and got my very first still alive fish :p it’s a Oscar I got her a few months ago my friends came over and we where messing around and I got a switch that turns off every where the tank is and I guess it go hit… I didn’t know till now cuz we went to a dance then I was on my computer and I’m on my way to feed my Oscar (lemon) and tryed to turn her tank light on didn’t work so I got scared ran to the switchto turn it all on and it’s cloundy ful of like white hairs some just floating some on lemon and the tank walls so i told my 17 yr old sister she watched the ones on the wall and saw that they moved and thinks there worms but there are soo many and lemon is studering when she breaths my sister put in some "tank buddies" parasite clear but since there’s so many will my fish be ok?! Cuz I’ll do anything to save it! I know it’s just a fish but I love it and hand feed it an everything so I don’t want it to go! So what are they and will they clear up soon please! Help!!!
Ok. First of all how big is your said Tank….. and 2nd clean you tank if there are worms things…..they could be cat hairs…… scrub all of the glass….. MAKE SURE THE BUBBLIER IS ON AND THE FILTER!!! take out 50% of the water and put fresh water in….also get some money and buy aquarium salt, and parasite tank buddies!!! also if the water is cloudy your tank is cycling… because you dont have enough good bacteria so at the pet store get Aquriuim salt, tank buddies., bactriea in a bottle and put alittle more than it says on the bottle int here….. also clean your filters….

They are called ancor worms, i recently had them and lost all but one fish. There are many ways to cure them ,some can be pricy, but to stop the spreading put 1 table spoon of salt in the tank if it is a 30 gallon, 2 table spoons for 55 gallon 3 table spoons for anything more. then tommorw go to your local fish store, and get a "dip" treatment for freshwater fish. you can just tell them and they will help you.

I have never heard of anchor worms before looking at this question.
i have just done some research and have discovered that you put in 1 tablespoon of salt (not table salt) go to the pet shop quickly.
i hope i never get those horrible worms in my tank!
